Visa stuff

Hey all! SO, definitely keen to get to this years meeting... will be hitching with my bike from Montenegro... but but but, of course i need a visa, being Australian. Are there any other people in the same boat? It seems like most are free to go for 90 days... but aussies need papers. I have little internet connection for the next few weeks, but checked a little and see i need an invitation letter and a bunch of jazz. Ive emailed a couchsurfer in odessa who is keen to help, but i think the letter has to be all official and stamped and paid for etc... Really dont know about this,

can anyone help shed some light on what exactly i will need to do to get in? Apparently it can take up to a 4 weeks to process, so im guessing i should get my ass into gear. Any help would be great! Cheers! x lily

1. Visa stuff - try to get a transit one

G) Transit Visa:
A valid visa to the country of destination, other documents which confirm entry into that country, or a confirmed one way or round trip ticket for travel from the point of entry into Ukraine to the point of entry into the next country from Ukraine are acceptable supporting documents for transit visas. This visa does not authorize an applicant's stay in Ukraine and is not required for a non-stop flight over Ukraine.

2. hmmmm

thanks for the tip...

how do i make that work though? Moldova would be nice, but australians need a visa for there too. I dont need a visa for Poland... so i guess i could say im travelling through to there... but if im hitchhiking how the hell is that gonna work? Buy a bus ticket or something...? i guess it could still be cheaper.

Hmmm anyhoo, thanks for the thought! Its looking like ill need to spend about 200 aus. dollars to get a visa. 150 for the visa, plus invitation letter.

dunno if i'll be seeing y'all there kids.
